#FITSPO: GETTING MOTIVATED WITH LAURYN EAGLE
Best tips for staying consistent throughout winter?
The hardest thing in winter is the cold and the shorter days. Different things motivate different people; it can be as easy as getting some new comfortable, trendy and warm workout gear.
I find there is nothing better than working out with a friend. Set each other challenges and short-term goals that are realistic and achievable. We all have that competitive nature in us and we all love testing ourselves with a friend. For example, skipping, boxing, medicine ball routines and relay time challenges (you rest and encourage while your partner does their set) are all quick and fun exercises. And having FUN is the most important thing!
Who inspires you to push yourself in fitness?
Definitely, Ronda Rousey (UFC Chamapion). I am a tough taskmaster when I judge my body shape and myself. I’m always pushing myself and yeah I have a hectic schedule in between running my own gym, designing fitness programs, modeling, training for fights but it’s very satisfying when I see how much I help change people’s body shape and their attitude to a healthy active lifestyle.
Exercises we can do wherever, whenever…
With a little bit of equipment and some space there are plenty of good exercises to do at home or while traveling.
I love skipping, running, lunges and crunches (man I do a lot of these). I find the best way to exercise is with your favourite music pumping in the background … makes the time fly and gives you some rhythm in your routine.
Things to remember when you don’t see results straight away?
Exercise is very much a silent achiever. One day you will wake up and gain that extra notch in your belt or you will notice your bottom is that much firmer and your shoulders are more defined. Be patient and be persistent. The results WILL come when you least expect it.
